Aiming to connect the dots between self-care and sex, founder Amy Johnson saw an opportunity to develop the space between sexual wellness and lifestyle. Modeled after the earliest women-run sex shops (remember Vibrator Nation!?), Nox offers a curated selection of products, from toys to mood-setters, and plenty of information. “Nox is a personal journey for me,” says Johnson.

I wanted to find a space where I felt completely comfortable shopping for sex toys and products online.

I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to build it. I want it to feel like getting advice from a good friend in a totally chill environment.

With a background in Interior Design, it was critical for Amy that everything at Nox not only worked amazingly well but also looked so good you wanted to leave it on your nightstand. “The design and packaging themselves can be enough to prevent some people from buying sex products. By curating a beautiful selection of toys and presenting it alongside less intimidating products like organic body oils or hand poured candles, we aim to present a narrative of what sexy can mean for some people who had previously felt left out or put off.”

Featuring products from major players like LELO and Dame Products, as well as smaller lifestyle and body care product companies with a cult following, such as Fat and the Moon and Wary Meyers, Nox presents sex toys in a revolutionary light: like any other lifestyle product.

Sex is an amazing and healthy part of my life, but it’s not my entire lifestyle.

Sex products tend to be marketed as really kinky, or silly—some women love that, and others don’t. I wanted to create a calm, welcoming space that reduced the stigma around shopping for toys.

Since its launch, Nox has gained a growing and devoted following on Instagram. “Judging by our followers’ feedback, we know we’re on the right track,” says Johnson. “Many women feel that their needs aren’t met in the current marketplace, and we’re excited to work with our community to create something new.”

So, enough from us! (for now) Go check them out for yourself!
